How WayChess works

WayChess does not replace classic tactics. It adds the missing piece: spotting the moments when a combination might be possible, then drilling that check until it is fast.

1. Learn the signal

Each habit is a specific thing to look for after you glance at the position — for example every attack on your pieces, or two enemy pieces a knight could fork. You learn what counts and what does not.

2. Drill it on many positions

You mark the relevant squares or pieces. After you submit, you get immediate feedback. The goal is not to solve a “mate in three”. The goal is to see the pattern in a few seconds.

3. Repeat in daily sets

Daily sets mix the habits so the checks stay available during a real game, not only in a chapter you just studied.

4. Use it against a bot

You can play versus a bot with habit-training mode: the same scans you practised, applied while you are actually moving pieces.

What you train

See the full list on Habits. Three habits have a short guest try: attacked pieces, undefended pieces, and knight fork.

Free vs paid

The free plan includes introductory positions for each habit, one daily set, and bot play. Paid plans unlock the large position pool and unlimited daily sets.
